I have been walking up and down the Thames from Hammersmith Bridge for about 10 years. Last weekend, I discovered a new thing, just by taking the left fork of a path, instead of continuing straight on. It’s called Leg o’ Mutton reservoir, and it’s quite lovely, nestled away amongst the trees between the river and a main road.
I saw lots of herons and an egret, but was too slow off the mark with the camera. However, the setting sun provided colours that made up for it. Or would have done, if I didn’t do my usual trick of shooting straight into the sun and overexposing the sky.
